There are many reasons for holding an internal investigation in the workplace, including to clarify and establish the facts of a disciplinary matter or surrounding a grievance/customer complaint. This event is designed to allow attendees to understand how to conduct and manage an unbiased investigation, from gathering and assessing evidence through to presenting findings.
Paul Beard, Director, and Donna Ivey, Deputy Director, from Acas South East will be delivering this event. Both of whom have many years experience of training and mediation in the UK and in Guernsey.
Paul trained as a lawyer before working in a variety of public and private sector roles, including as a professional investigator. He has an MBA and is a CMI Chartered Manager, as well as having nearly 10 years’ experience working with Acas’ clients from SMEs through to large corporate employers.
Donna has many years’ experience in Acas, as a conciliation manager, senior adviser and Deputy Director. She holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Individual Dispute Resolution and teaches, among other courses, the prestigious and accredited Acas Certificate in Workplace Mediation course.
Paul and Donna will cover key techniques, procedures and checklists to help ensure that you are considering all the critical factors and that you undertake the process in a fair and un-biased manner.
Delegates will develop valuable understanding of what the employment law (in Guernsey) requires and will learn key skills in the investigation processes, such as interviewing/questioning and analysis. There will also be an outline of how to write an investigation report.
This will be suitable for HR practitioners and line managers alike.
