Accelerate Programme Showcase Event
Overview
Join Us at the Accelerate Programme Showcase Event!
We are delighted to host an evening celebrating the launch and future direction of the Accelerate STEM Programme at Truro & Penwith College. Our keynote speaker, Dr Vincent Smith MBE FIntP, Honorary Senior Research Fellow in Physics, will deliver his talk: "How I Discovered the Higgs Boson (with the help of 7,000 colleagues)" - an inspiring and accessible insight into cutting-edge particle physics and life inside one of the most important scientific discoveries of our time.
The event will also feature a student panel of current Accelerate learners, sharing their experiences from projects such as UKROC, CanSat, F1 STEM Racer, Astropi, Junior Water Prize, and IRIS Research. Students will discuss their research, the skills they have gained, and how Accelerate is preparing them for highly competitive STEM degrees, apprenticeships and careers.
This evening is aimed at prospective students, parents and members of our wider community who want to discover how Acclerate blends hands-on projects, real scientific research and specilist STEM support to create exceptional opportunities here at Truro & Penwith College.
Come and see first-hand how our students are preparing themselves to become the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators.
