Event description

Description

The need for public sector organisations to transform digitally is now widely accepted. Few senior executives remain to be convinced (do they?).

With the focus shifting from the WHY to the HOW of transformation, this highly interactive discussion forum presents scenarios covering the public sector workplace of the future.

Using live interactive audience polling and open group discussion, public sector leaders will share their hopes, aspirations and experiences evaluating the digital transformation progress currently being made, benchmarked against accepted best practice; the main drivers, barriers and obstacles to change; how these can be overcome; providing highly practical advice for getting there.

Forum findings will be written up as a short White Paper - "The State of Public Sector Transformation, 2018" and made available to all participants.

The key issues covered during the forum will be agile and responsive to the specific needs of participants but are likely to include the following:

  • Drivers of change: the growing expectations of constantly connected customers and employees; the convergence of disruptive technologies; the public sector digital landscape.
  • "External Digital": the progress made in leveraging the full potential of digital technologies for delivering exceptional customer experiences at key moments of truth in the customer journey.
  • "Internal Digital": the progress made in creating digital workplaces, leveraging the full potential of digital technology for rethinking the way things are done, breaking free from the limits imposed by legacy systems and legacy management thinking.
  • Building a culture of change: streamlining internal processes and systems, improving efficiency, reducing costs, building a more collaborative, cost efficient, agile, responsive, data driven workplace environment, "fit-for-purpose" in a digital age.
  • The key technologies underpinning the public sector workplace of the future.
  • "Getting there": practical advice and next steps
