Who are Access All Areas? 

Access All Areas is a student-led group at The University of Manchester Students' Union. The group support current students to create and participate in projects that aim to tackle educational inequalities.

 

Our Access All Areas Project: Manchester Outreach Medics

Manchester Outreach Medics (Access All Areas) allowing local students to experience life as a medical student.


Who should attend the conference?

The conference is ideal for practitioners from students' unions, universities and widening participation organisations as well as current university students.

It will be of particular interest to those who hope to develop student leadership within access and widening participation initiatives.


What can be expected of the conference?

Join us at Hulme Hall on The University of Manchester Campus, to explore student leadership.

 The conference will provide a selection of workshops from the following themes:

- Student leadership in widening participation

- Building and maintaining effective partnerships for widening participation projects

- Experience of Access All Areas and The Living Off Campus Project at The University of Manchester Students' Union

- Current students as ambassadors and role models

- Support that works (measuring impact)

LUNCH AND REFRESHMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED ON THE DAY


Speakers will include:

University of Wolverhampton and Wolves SU, Sussex Students’ Union, Kings’ College London Students’ Union, The Brilliant Club, IntoUniversity. University of Manchester – Widening Participation Department. University of Manchester Students’ Union Off Campus Students’ Project as well as some of our own student project leaders from the Manchester Outreach Medics and LGBTQ+ Peer Support Project.

We will also be joined by representatives from NUS (Malia Bouattia and Sarah Kerton) and NUS Scotland (Vonnie Sandlan).

Access All Areas - Manchester University Students' Union

Access All Areas is the newest volunteering arm of the Students' Union, bringing together a range of student-led educational volunteer projects in the local community.

All of our projects have the same aim - to improve access and widen participation in education.

We lead workshops in local primary schools, run educational outreach projects and mentoring schemes in the community.
