Access All Areas: Inclusive Volunteer Management Training with Active Volun...
Fri 21 April 2017, 09:30 – 16:30 BST
A practical workshop delivered by Volunteering Barnet and Active Volunteering Barnet.
The first session of this event took place on Friday 3rd March and the follow-up, for those who attended the initial training, will take place on 21st April.
Develop your knowledge, confidence and tools for making your volunteering opportunities accessible for people with various support needs.
Diverse people can make a huge contribution to your organisation through their volunteering. This training will equip you in all areas of your volunteer programme, from recruitment to induction and ongoing support. You will come away from the session having reviewed your existing processes, with an Inclusive Volunteering action plan to implement any improvements you would like to make.
Attendance at the course includes ongoing support to develop your volunteering programme and involve volunteers who have disabilities, long term health issues or other barriers to volunteering.
This training includes a follow-up session on 21st April 2017, where we will provide bespoke follow-up support to organisations.
This training is free of charge for representatives of organisations that provide volunteer opportunities in the borough of Barnet. If you or your organisation does not meet this criteria, please contact Sarah on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Outcomes from this training:
•Create an Action Plan on how to make your organisation inclusive
•Learn about how to include volunteers at each stage of the volunteer journey, from recruiting volunteers to inducting them and supporting them throughout their experience
•Learn about the benefits of inclusive volunteering and the barriers for volunteers
•Share top tips and network with other volunteer coordinators in the borough
Quote from a participant in our Best Practice in Volunteer Management Training:
I found the training very helpful and engaging. The methods used ensured that we gained a great deal from the sessions which were practical and richly informative. It was especially helpful to learn from other volunteer managers. It was the first such training I have attended and I have already signed up for another seminar!
