ACCESS ALL AREAS - The Anatomy of a Church Restoration Project
Event Information
Description
Grade I Listed St. Agnes & St. Pancras' Parish Church is undergoing a £340,000 Restoration Project which will see the replacement of the South-facing roof, repairs to high-level stonework, the installation of a structural monitoring system and various internal repairs.
This is your opportunity to come and learn how such a project works. Climb the scaffolding (under strict supervision) and see the roof structure and high-level stonework at close quarters. Learn about the processes of decay which led to the repairs being needed. Find out about the fund-raising process and hear the fascinating story of the church and of Robert Horsfall, its illustrious Founder.
This FREE event gives you access to ALL AREAS of the church including the Minstrel's Gallery and Western Gallery as well as the roof and you will have a chance to talk to the Project Manager, the Architect and the tradesmen as they carry out the repairs.
