Access All Areas #2 2019

‘An Inclusive Curious City’

A family friendly event for all!

WECIL and We the Curious are pleased to launch our ongoing partnership at this year’s Access All Areas event which we are hosting at We the Curious.

The event is jam packed with interactive and fun activities suitable for all the family, with lots of entertainment and opportunities to meet with some influential people within the city to hear about our current campaigning work. Come along and celebrate the best of what Bristol has to offer.


August 28th, 2019

13:00 – 17:00


The event will be held on the top floor of We the Curious and the entrance can be found at the left hand side of the building next to the planetarium and the fountains. Please note that this event is not hosted in the museum.

1 pm - Doors will open and our friendly team will be available to support guests and show people around.

1.30 pm - Opening speeches from WECIL and We the Curious

13:45 – 15:45

Accessible Circus and music Workshops with Cirque Bijou and Extraordinary Bodies

Room 1 – Quiet Space with Tai Chi Demonstrations

Room 2 – Sensory Room Open

Room 3 – Campaign Corner launching campaigns on Public Toilets, Sustainability & Local Transport

WECIL Signing Group performing in the Main Room at 2pm

WECIL Collective Music Group Performing at 2pm

Balcony BBQ and Bar Open at 2pm

We expect this to be a busy event. There may be assistance dogs at the event. There is likely to be people of all ages there including children.

We have created a quiet room close to the entrance for anyone who would like to use it.


Access to the venue is either via stairs or a lift. The lift has been assessed and is large enough for all wheelchairs, scooters or mobility aids.

There will be several BSL interpreters available on the day.

There will be interactive group activities but these are optional for example the circus workshops.

There will be music and singing which will be subtitled.

The sensory space will be managed by experienced sensory workers who will ensure that it is safely and appropriately used.

There will be portable changing places available at the venue as well as multiple disabled toilets at the venue.
