'Access to Funding' - Startup Finance Advice & 2k Pitching Opportunity

The CRL are pleased to bring together representatives from different funding agencies, to present various routes to funding for start ups, small businesses, and SME's.
There will be a chance to hear from grant & trust experts, crowdfunders to investors, alongside opportunities to speak with them afterwards and network with other invited funders, investors and fellow startups.
The event is particularly tailored towards hardware and technology based businesses, but many of the talks and tips will are be relevant to any industry.
This event is free to attend.

2.45 - 'Tips for Writing a Successful Grant Application' Solveiga Pakstaite - Founder of 'Bumpmark'
Bump Mark is the first biologically-accurate food spoilage indicator for packaged foods that will cut food waste and improve food safety. Solveiga came up with the concept while at university and has since developed it into a functioning product together with her team. The venture so far has been entirely funded by "free money" so in her talk Solveiga will be sharing her top tips so you can do the same.
Successful applications include Climate Kick, the James Dyson Award, Shell Livewire, The Mayors Award.
3.00 - 'Knowledge Transfer Network' talk about grant funding opportunities. KTN is a partner of 'Innovate UK'.
Knowledge Transfer Network is a network partner of Innovate UK and also provides innovation networking for other funders in line with its mission to drive UK growth. Emma Fadlon will be sharing information about R&D tax credits, SEIS-EIS, patent box, Innovate UK grants, regional awards, and EU and Research Council awards

4:00 - 'Buy Now, Pay Later' a talk about Invoice Finance by Julian Cassien, Natwest Business Commercial Manager
You may not realise that there are effective ways of cashflowing orders up front, through your bank manager. Invoice financing is a general term used for asset based lending products that allow companies to finance slow-paying accounts receivable. There are two ways to finance invoices. The first way is through a sale. Invoices can be sold to a factoring company in exchange for an immediate payment.
