Access to HE Diplomas - Assignment Writing

Dr Andy Stott, Programme Leader for Access to HE Diplomas at The Trafford College Group will outline how to write effective assignments for Access to HE Diplomas.

Using his experiences of teaching and leading Access provision, Andy will share best practice and identify the pitfalls to avoid when writing assignments, and how to improve practices. Andy will also discuss the use of grade descriptors and explain how certain methods of assessment meet unit requirements better than others.

The session will outline how to ensure that staff and learners understand what they need to do in order to achieve pass, merit and distinction grades.

This session is suitable for new and experienced Access to HE tutors and internal quality assurers. The session will provide opportunities for participation through questions and answers.
