About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Many Access to Work applicants are receiving lower than expected grants at renewal. This also means that many people are having to submit a reconsideration request as part of this process.

Decode Head of Programme, Cathy Waller, is leading a webinar on how to approach renewals and reconsiderations.

What the session will cover

Cathy will talk through:

  • The renewal process from start to finish, including top tips during negotiation
  • What you need to include in a reconsideration request
  • How and when to make a complaint

At the end of the meeting, there will be a Q&A where Cathy will answer your questions.

Event details

The webinar will be held on Tuesday 15th July from 1:30pm to 3pm, and is suitable for both individuals and organisations.

Tickets:

  • £10 for individuals
  • £30 for organisations

It costs over £1,000 to deliver a webinar like this. Your ticket fee helps contribute towards access and hosting costs — Decode covers the rest to keep it as affordable as possible.

If the cost is a barrier to attendance, please contact us at admin@disabilityarts.online for a free ticket. We’re committed to making this session accessible to everyone.

Demand for this session is likely to be high, so please only book tickets for the live event if you can attend. If relevant, please book a ticket for each member of staff from your organisation that will be attending.

If you can't attend live, you can book a ticket to receive the webinar recording, but this will not include the Q&A (as personal information may be shared during this part of the session).

Access

The session will be BSL interpreted and live captioned.

Disability Arts Online is a long-established arts organisation that occupies a unique global position with its UK-based website, partnership and consultancy work, artist development programmes and vibrant community of disabled creatives.

The online magazine platforms discussion about arts and culture from a disability perspective. This gives disabled artists a place to talk about accessing the arts and to critique the development of artistic practice across all art forms. The website hosts high-quality editorial covering in-depth interviews, opinion, reviews, news, podcasts and videos.

We work with a range of partner organisations to open up access to the arts for disabled artists and audiences. Our talent development programmes support early career artists through one-to-one Skype sessions and nurture talent through critique and showcase. We work to break down barriers in the industry, most recently demonstrated through our Guide to Access to Work in the Arts and Cultural Sector.
