SUSE is the lead partner in the Disability Employment Gap Public Social Partnership (PSP) which has been commissioned by the Scottish Government.
The Disability Employment Gap PSP is a unique and forward-thinking initiative in the Scottish employability landscape. We aim to contribute to the ambition set by the Scottish Government in The Fairer Scotland for Disabled People – Employment Action Plan, to half the Disability Employment Gap by 2038.
As part of funding made available from the partnership, we are delighted to offer employers and providers a free short course exploring the principles of Accessible Communication.
This course will be presented by partner organisation Values Into Action Scotland, who work to ensure full rights, choice and control for people with learning disabilities & individuals on the autistic spectrum.
This short course will comprise of two 2 hour sessions and will cover:
* Accessible communication and why we need it
* Available resources when thinking about accessible communication
* How to create documents in an easy-to-understand format
One session will be on principles in accessible communication. The second session will be a practical workshop where participants bring along in-house polices and seek advice and guidance.
Course participants must be able to attend both sessions which take place on:-
Course1: Tuesday 2nd March, 2pm-4pm and Wednesday 3rd March, 10am-12 noon
Course 2: Thursday 11th March, 2pm-4pm and Friday 12th March, 10am-12 noon
Course 3: Monday 22nd March, 2pm-4pm and Tuesday 23rd March, 2pm - 4pm
