The village of Lympstone’s Emergency Planning Group applied for, and received, funding for a water pump through the Devon Emergency Resilience Fund. Phillip Corcos from the Lympstone Flood Resilience Group will provide a case study of how this has helped them strengthen their resilience.

Dr Louise MacAllister of Devon Communities Together and the Devon Community Resilience Forum Project Manager will then talk through how you can also access the fund to strengthen your community emergency plan and resilience. We have two schemes; one to support community emergency planning groups to form, and one to support the purchase of equipment or small scale works that will boost the ability of the community to respond in an emergency and enhance overall resilience.

Former Lympstone Parish Council Councillor Corcos is the co-ordinator for the Lympstone Flood Resilience Group. He has successfully led the completion of the Lympstone Community Emergency Plan and subsequent successful applications for funding to the Devon Emergency Fund for both the water pump and additional kit.
