Event description

Description

Brought to you by B+A, with curator Teju Adeleye. Hosted by Adesuwa Osewa and Charlie Dark. We are bringing another incredible night of global sounds to the intimate St Barnabas chapel in the heart of Soho. No plugs. No computers. No phones. All proceeds from the event go towards supporting people affected by homelessness into lasting paid work.

Cecil B

Cecil B is a poet and performance artist. Deptford born and bread, Cecil’s repertoire fuses poetry, spoken word, hip hop, punk and audio experimental forms. The results are charged shape-shifting, meditations on social justice, gentrification, life, love and more. He’ll be performing with Jamie Benzies (Cykada) and drummer George Bass (King Krule)

Steve Williamson

Legendary British Jazz saxophonist Steve Williamson performs a rare solo set. Beginning his career playing in leading reggae bands including Misty in Roots, he went on to become a founder member of the seminal group, The Jazz Warriors.

He has played with the likes of Bheki Mseleku, Louis Moholo, Abbey Lincoln and Chris McGregor’s Brotherhood of Breath.

Nick Walters and Paradox Ensemble

Paradox Ensemble was formed in 2013 by trumpeter Nick Walters, bringing together some of his closest musical collaborators from various projects. After a debut release entitled 'Entanglement' on Efpi Records, and several gigs around the country, the project returned in 2018 with the album 'Awakening'.

Lex Amor

Lex Amor is a London based producer, rapper, singer and DJ. A celebrated tastemaker known for her Reprezent Radio show, Mellowdic, she has been steadily making waves over the last few years with hits including 'Mood', 'Pink' and the Touching Bass release ‘Praises’ . The combination of her sultry tone, lucid flow and lyrical candour -whether singing or rapping - have positioned her as one of the city’s finest exports.
