Event description

Description

The Hunt ADR Accredited Mediator Skills Training Programme is a very intensive 5 Day programme where delegates learn and apply the skills needed to effectively mediate civil and commercial disputes.

Successful completion of course assessments leads to Civil Mediation Council Accreditation, and for those who wish to continue and practice as a mediator, exclusive access to the Clerksroom Observer Programme is included*.

Delegates will learn and practice the skills required to practice as a mediator or enhance the performance and add value to the career of:

  • Anyone with responsibility for resolving disputes

  • Solicitors and Barristers

  • In-house Legal Advisors and Legal Counsel

  • Other professional advisers for example, accountants, architects, surveyors and engineers

  • Healthcare professionals

  • HR managers, union representatives and policy advisers

People undertaking this training do so for several reasons, not least

  • To pursue a career in mediation

  • To aid in representing parties in mediation

  • For academic research

  • For generally transferable business skills - mediator skills can help delegates become better negotiators and help them deal with conflict in their own businesses more effectively

  • To give themselves a more saleable / employable profile - this is the main reason for the increase in law students / Bar graduates taking the course. They feel it will help them get a placement more easily because they have something most candidates don't have

The programme is offered as an 'open course' throughout the year and on an 'in-house' basis for businesses or all types.

Hunt ADR is accredited by the Civil Mediation Council as a Civil & Commercial Mediation Training Provider and fulfils the CMCs set standards of training, CPD, and administration. Hunt ADR's training is endorsed by Clerksroom, a leading national provider of advocacy, advice and mediation services throughout England & Wales.
