About This Course
This programme provides a comprehensive introduction to the issues involved in working with women recovering from experiences of gendered violence. It is informed by feminist principles and promotes a holistic range of therapeutic techniques that reclaim ancient and traditional women-centred ways of healing, seeking inspiration and expression from diverse global cultures. The programme also incorporates the latest advancements in neuroscience to aid understanding of the physiological responses of trauma and the long term impact on women's lives.
The training programme consists of 12 one-day sessions, with a combination of lectures, exercises, roleplays and multimedia presentations. The interactive nature of the course provides delegates with an opportunity to participate in and contribute to the training. Participants will also be able to learn from each other and the facilitators.
This course is accredited by OCN London. The programme has a credit value equivalent to an A level and assessments form part of the learning process. On completion, the course provides seven units, six at Level 3 and one at Level 1. Six of of the units have a value of 3 credits and one unit has a value of 6 credits, a total value of 24 credits.
