FINBAR FUREY IRISH TOUR 2019
Multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, songwriter, storyteller and actor Finbar Furey has announced a brand new Irish Tour in 2019, that will see the iconic musician visit Dublin, Waterford, Galway, Killarney, Limerick Donegal and Cork, with tickets going on sale on Friday 26th October at 9am.

The Irish folk legend, who has left his mark on the music of Ireland for more than four decades as the lead singer and uilleann pipes player for the Fureys, has always been at the forefront of musical change. His long career has also included film & TV appearances, including a singing role in the 2002 Martin Scorsese film‘Gangs of New York’ as well as theaward-winning 2016 film ‘The Wild Goose Lodge’, for which he wrote and played the music.
After thirty years touring the world with his brothers, introducing new audiences to the band’s music, and in 1996 Finbar embarked on a solo career to pursue a new life as a singer, writer and producer.

On October 4th 2018 in New York, Finbar was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Gaelic Players Association. On being chosen for the award Finbar said: 'I'm honoured, delighted and taken by surprise to be given this Lifetime Achievement Award. It's a very special feeling to be recognised like this. I'm (nearly) speechless'.
The GPA US Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to individuals who have provided outstanding service in their chosen field. It acknowledges the deep historical and cultural ties between Ireland and the US and recognizes a shared ancestry of which Ireland’s unique Gaelic sporting and musical heritage are an intrinsic part.

Fans can expect to be treated to Finbar’s rare talents as he brings pure Irish music and humour to the stage. At the age of 72, this supreme musician is not for slowing down when in Spring 2018 he enjoyed an incredible reaction from UK and beyond to his latest album and DVD ‘Don’t’ Stop This Now’.

'Finbar Furey proves that he is not just a massive force in Irish music's heritage, he is a massive force in shaping its future as well' - Shane MacGowan
