Description

PEAK DISTRICT NINE EDGES CHALLENGE

21 MILES, 9 EDGES, 1 DAY: ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE!

LONG DISTANCE WALK CONQUERING THE MOST ICONIC GRITSTONE EDGES IN THE PEAK DISTRICT, RAISING MONEY TO HELP ACEF TACKLE POVERTY.

This trek is designed to be challenging to those of good health and fitness, and is achievable for most people provided they train well in advance.

It’s a tough, long distance walk beginning on the banks of the serene Derwent Reservoir at Fairholmes visitor centre, and ending near the quaint village of Baslow. The route takes you on an undulating tour of the most spectacular views of the Peak District. Each step you take will reward you with another picture-perfect vista, including the 9 edges (Derwent, Stanage, Burbage Upper, Burbage Lower, Froggatt, Curbar, Baslow, Gardoms and Birchen). The event will be ran by qualified and insured mountain leaders with mountain first aid certification.

Minmum sponsorship is £100. Each pound raised above the costs to run the challenge will go directly to supporting the vulnerable children and orphans in Mathare North slum, Kenya.

Registrations must be in 6 weeks before the event. Kit list and required booking form will be emailed, once registered.

For those who do not want to complete the full 21 miles, a shorter route of around 10 miles can be completed. Please make us aware when returning your booking form so we can ensure there are enough guides per route.
