About this event
Description
The unrelenting maelstrom of technological change touches every corner of every organisation. With IT lying at the heart of the organisation the IT Pro finds themselves in the eye of the storm. In order to weather the storm, the IT Pro has to adapt, or face being swept away. This session presents change from the perspective of the IT Pro, highlights the skills needed, not just by the IT Pro but all of us involved in change, as well as sharing the ups and downs of the digital maturity needed to support a modern, adaptive workplace that empowers every person to achieve more.
Bio:
Simon is open minded about any technology that makes the lives of people easier and frees them to do what they do best! His focus is on building knowledge communities, efficient and effective information lifecycle management, and the sustained adoption of the Office 365 suite of products. He believes in configuration over development.
Simon is currently the architect of an Office 365 ecosystem at Mott MacDonald who are a global engineering, management, and development consultancy. In his role he is passionate about maximising the value gained from Office 365 by staff through adoption and continuous improvement. Whilst heavily immersed in the Microsoft stack he remains vendor agnostic.
Simon only recently made the transition into IT – his journey started in 2014. He is a 4-time Microsoft MVP in the Office Apps and Services category receiving his first award in 2016. Prior to his move he was a practising Civil Engineer. It may seem on the face of it that there are few similarities between the two, but he firmly believes that the mind-set needed for both disciplines – creativity, precision, an eye for detail and needing to be able to understand your client’s needs – means that the two are more alike than you think. You can follow his blog at buildbod.com and he is also a contributor for Regarding365. You connect with him through twitter @buildbod and LinkedIn.
