Description

Learn how to beat Acne on darker skin tones for good!

Recent studies show that up to 55% of the adult population between the ages of 20 and 40 suffer from persistent low grade acne ranging from oily blemished skin to mild spots and breakouts to cystic and painful inflamed lesions on the face, chest and/or back. The NHS reports that women present 80% of these acne cases.

On black skin, acne is a key concern and can be even more distressing due to the resulting hyperpigmentation, skin discolouration and even keloid scarring that it can cause. A flash BSD social media survey revealed 94% of respondents wanted more information on how to treat and manage acne on black skin, whilst 73% felt acne was having a negative impact on their life.

The long-term effects on skin, well being and mental health if left untreated can be severe. The British Skin Foundation reports that 95% of acne sufferers say it impacts their daily lives, 63% experience lower self-confidence and sadly over a third of people self-harm or have considered it.

If you or a loved one suffers from acne we invite you join Dr Bhavjit Kaur and clinicians at the highly commended Health and Aesthetic Clinic and BSD on 6th June 2019, during Acne Awareness Month to get the full low down on successfully managing and treating acne on darker skin tones.
