ACOSVO is running our next Skills for Mentoring session on Wednesday 22nd January in Edinburgh. This session will be for those considering becoming an ACOSVO mentor and wanting to learn more about our Mentoring Programme, as well as existing ACOSVO mentors wanting to reflect on recent mentoring relationships and hear current mentor thinking.

Session Aims:

  • To provide an overview of the ACOSVO Mentoring Programme
  • To develop participants’ understanding of the skills, tools and processes used in mentoring relationships
  • To share the work of various individuals who have made useful contributions to the field - Dave Clutterbuck, Edgar Schein, Nancy Kline, etc.
  • To discuss methods for ending mentoring relationships
  • To explore potential mentoring challenges
  • To offer opportunity for short co-coaching

The session will be delivered by Joette Thomas, who has a wealth of experience training mentors across all sectors, including; NHS Scotland, The Care Inspectorate, Scottish Social Services Council, Museums and Galleries Scotland.

To help best shape the day, please email phili.wetton@acosvo.org.uk with any key mentoring challenges you may have faced, along with any additional support you would personally like as a mentor which will then feed into the co-coaching element of the day.
