Ady Johnson

An Americana UK review described Ady Johnson’s soulful acoustic music as, “…kitchen-sink romanticism worthy of Ray Davies and a bluesy sound filtered through the uniquely English lens of skiffle.”

Suffolk born, London based antique furniture restorer/musician Ady Johnson, had both livelihoods threatened after he severed two tendons in a finger with a chisel. Thankfully he made a full recovery.
Having already had success with Colchester band FuzzFace and gaining an Honours Degree in classical guitar performance, Ady decided to down tools and focus on music.

2011 saw the release of Ady’s first solo album Tell the Worry Dolls. Recorded predominantly live in the studio, this acoustic album received critical praise from R2, BluesMatters, and a recommendation for album of the year from Press Association. Ady subsequently headlined many shows and supported a wealth of artists including Scott Matthews, Ben Howard and Willy Mason.

Ady began recording his second album London Songs in 2017, with Gerry Diver in the producer’s chair. In May, Ady was invited to support folk singer Lisa Knapp at the launch of her album Till
April is Dead: A Garland of May. Ady also played electric guitar with Lisa’s band on her song Staines Morris.

London Songs has been released on 23rd February 2018. This dynamic acoustic album presents songs ranging from intimate vignettes, to full-band Waitsian stompers. London Songs brings together a collection of songs inspired by people, places and personal experiences, since Ady moved to London from
Colchester.

“One of the UK’s most inventive songwriters.”
Stephen Foster – BBC Radio Suffolk

Only Takes A Day

A folk/hip hop duo based in London. With influences ranging from Bob Dylan to J Dilla, their sound has been described as a more melodic version of Scroobius Pip.

Having formed at a house party jam in the summer of 2014, vocalist and guitarist Shaanvir Rehal and percussionist Fabien Waldheim cut a separate path to the Americanised rap that’s homogenizing commercial music right now. Their approach is uniquely their own, with Shaanvir’s lyrics often feeling like forays into his own head, while Fabien’s beats take the place of traditional sampling to provide an organic dynamism that can’t be achieved through machines.

Joseph Lofthouse

Hailing from the North but dwelling in East London, Joseph Lofthouse combines deft guitar work and heartfelt lyrics to captivate the ear.

‘the Lancashire native never seems isolated on the stage as his sound is rich, full of passion and flows from the heart.' - a music blog yea’

‘A pleasant introduction to a classic songsmith’ - Livestream magazine
