Barry Locke

Soaring, Powerful, Unrelenting. These are just some of the words that best describe the Vocal Power of Barry Locke. This is the trademark of an artist who conveys a vast range of styles within one phrase and yet, has managed to hold on to the comforting tonal graces of his Native Hometown.

The combination of his Timbre and Tone gets your attention immediately and rightly it must because this is someone who has something to say. Howling into the microphone we see Barry, an otherwise shy, reserved man holding himself back, complimented by lyrics that reveal a clear message of survival through the musings and experiences of someone who has never found their place in the world around them. Somehow, just beyond the self deprecation, are flashes of self belief that threaten unfinished business and a thirst for personal growth. It is the soulful edges to Barry Locke’s music that gives it its true identity and coupled with the deep rumble of his Piano what you will witness are the confessions of an incomplete man trying to find all the pieces.

Oh yeah, he is also Irish...

Joey Collins

Joey Collins is a singer-songwriter and producer based in Nottingham, England. His sound is introspective and emotional, with a penchant for minimalistic arrangements and astonishing lyrics with a personal twist.

Fans of artists as diverse as Elliott Smith and Jeff Buckley are certainly going to be able to connect with Joey’s songwriting approach and delicate playing. Joey’s sonic aesthetics are refreshingly bare, yet the sound of his music is dense and atmospheric. It’s maybe because of his alternative rock background that Joey is able to capture a sense of immediacy with his songs, often focusing on the true essence of the tracks, rather than trying to embellish the songs in the studio.

Collins’ has accomplished receiving airtime on BBC Introducing eight times with his songs ‘Life Goes On...’, ‘Skeletons’, ‘Bukowski, are you there?’, ‘Requiem’, ‘Time Becomes Our Only Saviour’ [x2], 'Sleep' and ‘Like A Fool’. Furthermore, ‘Time Becomes Our Only Saviour’ and ‘Like A Fool’ was chosen by Dean Jackson to be the ‘Track of the week’ for BBC Introducing, whilst Summaya Mughal (BBC Radio Nottingham) has shown her support for the young musician during her discovery sessions.

You can listen to his sophomore album ‘Requiem’ now at: https://ampl.ink/golrR

His music has been described by critics for "rocking a low-key, Kurt Cobain sound with a hint of Jeff Buckley soul." - Leftlion

"If the key to prolonged success is diversity, then Joey Collins will be a name everyone will know for years to come." - Musik Magazine

"With a range of influences from Jeff Buckley to Thom Yorke, Joey Collins' 'Requiem' has a mature and melancholic tone that sends shivers down your spine." - BBC Introducing

"A strikingly original artist in the modern era of over-produced, zealous pop, Collins’ sophomore record possesses an emotional and lyrical dexterity to satisfy tortured souls and hopeful romantics alike.” - The Mic Magazine
