Description

Workshop Detail

Anthony will start the workshop with a brief introduction to acrylics, explaining colour theory and lean to fat technique.

He will then move onto drawing prepective, talking about finding the horizon eye level, negative space sky and buildings.

Using a limited palette of acrylic colours, a urban outline will be added to the gesso primed paper with a brush. Working from light to dark, adding mid tones and shadows.

The final stage is adding and removing areas of paint until happy with the composition and then a final varnish.

About the Artist

Anthony is a member of NAPA the National Acrylic Painters Association and has been painting for over 30 years he holds a BA (Hons) Fine Art and Certificate in Education and is a professional artist and lecturer. Anthony is predominantly a figurative painter with a prolific output that often overflows into the disciplines of landscape, still life and abstract painting. His work stretches the boundary between representational imagery and memory, exploring techniques that become far more important than the painting process itself.
