Event description

Description

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a third wave approach that helps people to drop the struggle with things outside of their control and take positive steps towards what matters in life

This workshop is for practitioners interested in applying ACT to themselves and their work, including therapists, GPs, and coaches. The emphasis of the workshop is on learning through doing, and then applying core processes and techniques to your practice, which you can use straight after the sessions.

This is an experiential workshop! Participants will get the most from the workshop if they are curious and open to engaging in ACT exercises themselves (including reflecting on personal issues), in order to develop more solid foundation for using these approaches with clients.

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn the core processes of ACT and how to apply them as part of fostering meaning and vitality for yourselves and your clients
  • Understand why people get stuck and how to manage struggles more effectively
  • Get clarity on how mindfulness is used within ACT (what it is, and what it isn't!).
  • Understand how to pay attention to process issues in the therapy room in order to fluidly structure sessions
  • Come away with a tool-kit of practical approaches, to launch you in your ACT journey

Day 1 will focus on experiential learning of the ACT model;

Day 2 will focus on putting ACT into practice with your clients.

Refreshments and lunch included.
