Focusing on the actor within.
20 places available
There are many thousands of performers working in the acting profession – there are very few true actors. Of all creative endeavours, the art of acting is amongst the most profound and challenging. The actor must possess an intelligence and instinct that can evaluate and recreate the essence and psychological motivation of human behaviour, leading to internal and external transformation. Therefore, a systematised methodology for creating a role is essential.
This course is designed to appeal to those prospective students of acting who wish to study in depth the practical processes and philosophies of Konstantin Stanislavski and the American acting teacher Uta Hagen. It aims to instil a lifelong curiosity and commitment towards the craft of acting, laying down a logical and consistent system of training that will serve and sustain a professional career based upon rigour and discipline. It focuses solely on technique as a means by which the complexities and challenges of a role can be deconstructed and identified, putting the actor at the centre of the creative process and world of the writer.
