Welcome to the BAP online Acting Course for Adults. Whether you've ever dreamed of stepping into the spotlight, this is your chance to learn the basics of acting from the comfort of your own home at the Acting Essentials Workshop.

Join tutor Suzette Llewellyn for a week of interactive sessions on the course, where you'll discover the secrets of great acting, gain public speaking skills, and build confidence.

Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to brush up on your skills, this workshop is perfect for you.

Over five sessions can expect to:

  • Learn how to create a strong foundation for your acting technique
  • Analyse scripts and breakdown scenes
  • Explore techniques to create compelling characters

No previous experience is required, just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

The minimum age for this course is 18 and sessions will be taking place via Zoom. Please ensure you are able to access Zoom on your device prior to the course.

If joining on a mobile phone/ipad you will need the Zoom app.

Each day of the course will start at 6.30pm and finish at 8pm (BST - UK Time Zone).

How do I get the link to join?

You'll receive the Zoom link to join the course meeting in an email prior to the start of it - this could be an hour from the first session or 30 minutes before so remember to check your emails or your junk mail for a message marked from Eventbrite/BAP. Please ensure you have access to Zoom.

Can anyone join?

This class is for all who are aged 18 and over, with an interest or curiosity in acting and developing their performance skills. It is also open to anyone wanting develop their confidence on stage in general - this is open to all who fit the age criteria.

Who is teaching this course?

This course is run through Black Arts Production Theatre (BAP) and the course tutor is Suzette Llewellyn. Suzette is a LAMDA-trained actress with over 30 years’ experience in theatre, film, tv and radio and is an experienced drama and acting workshops leader. Learn more in the event blurb above.

Who are BAP?

BAP - Black Arts Production Theatre, was founded in 1992 and it delivers community-led acting projects that educate, and also bring awareness to social issues that affect ethnic minorities in the community. BAP trains in all aspects of theatre performance and is open to adults and children.

Do I have to be from an ethnic minority background to join BAP drama classes?

No, you don’t have to be from an ethnic minority background. BAP began in 1992 to address the lack of opportunities for Black and ethnic minority performers. While we continue to champion and reflect those voices in our classes, BAP classes are open and welcoming to everyone.
