WORKSHOPS ARE ON WEDNESDAY EVENINGS 19:00 UNTIL 21:00 ON THE DATES SHOWN. THE PROGRAMME INCLUDES ALL DATES. DON'T WORRY IF YOU CAN'T ATTEND ALL DATES THE WORKSHOP WILL BE RECORDED SO YOU CAN STILL RECEIVE THE INFORMATION.

This programme is aimed at those who are still well and who want to reduce their risk of developing Alzheimer’s Disease. It is a self-help diet and lifestyle 8 week programme to optimise cognitive health.

Alzheimer’s Disease starts 10, 20 or even 30 years before diagnosis. So making changes early and adopting a healthy diet and lifestyle is important.

Weekly workshops details

Workshop 1, 2 and 3 – MIND what you eat. Dates: 21st June, 28th June, 5th July

Focus on healthy nutrition, understanding the effects of different foods on brain health and how we can get the nutrients we need. Looking in more detail at carbohydrates, fats, nutrient dense foods and how we can implement changes to optimise cognitive health.

Workshop 4 – Gut health. Date: 12th July

This workshop helps to understand the significance of gut health and the connection between the gut and the brain. How we can heal the gut to protect our brains.

Workshop 5 – Stress Reduction. Date: 13th September

The effects of stress can be different for each of us. How the body responds to stress can have a negative effect on our health. Learn to recognise your personal triggers and how we can rethink our view of stress to reduce its impact on our health.

Workshop 6 – Sleep. Date: 20th September

Learn about the 5 stages of sleep and the hormones that affect our sleep pattern and how we can improve levels within the body. Understand the importance of a good nights’ sleep to help repair and restore our brains. Implement ways to improve sleep quality.

Workshop 7 – Exercise. Date: 27th September

Understand the benefits of physical activity on cognitive function. Find out the best exercise options for maintaining your own health and implement a sustainable exercise programme.

Workshop 8 – Brain Training. Date: 4th October

This workshop will help you understand the benefits of brain training and how it increases the plasticity of the brain. By the end you will be able to implement brain training exercises to help improve cognitive function.
