Event description
Making a Contribution in a Practice Field: Action Learning in a Changing World

About this Event

A one-day synchronous symposium via zoom

As we move into 2021 the world continues to change and phrases such as ‘unprecedented times’ have become common. Sadly, due to Covid-19 our plans to meet face-to-face have been put on hold. However, virtual meetings have now become common and can offer a ‘safe space’ (physically and psychologically) for us to meet.

We invite you to join us for a free one-day symposium, to share experiences, insights, questions and practice; networking with the Action Learning (AL) and Human Resource Development (HRD) community.

The aim is to engage in open dialogue and work towards developing a shared understanding of ‘contribution’ within the context of our practice fields. Invited key speakers will share their perspectives. There will also be an opportunity to meet the Editors and Board Members from the Action Learning: Research & Practice (AL: R&P) journal and the University Forum for HRD (UFHRD) journals.

To achieve our aim we also need the perspectives of journal readers, potential readers, contributors, potential contributors and reviewers.

Please note registration for this event is now closed.

We invite you to participate in the discussions and contribute to the symposium.

We welcome contributions for papers, a workshop or other forms of contribution which addresses the aim of the symposium. Refereed papers: abstracts of 300 words; accounts of practice and workshops: outline of 150 words.

• Places are limited, so if you are interested in attending and / or contributing please register your interest at Eventbrite by 11th December.

• If you would like to make a contribution, please email this to: J.F.Swainson@ljmu.ac.uk by 15th January 2021. Please select 'Request to Contribute' on ticket type on Eventbrite.

*Please note the deadline for contributions has been extended to 25th January 2021.*

• Decisions on proposed contributions will be communicated by 12th February 2021

This symposium is hosted by Liverpool Business School LEAD Research Group and the DBA Programme Team with support from AL:R&P journal and the UFHRD Research Activity Committee (RAC).
