Event description
A one day practice-focused webinar exploring the applications of chairwork in clinical supervision and case consultation.

About this Event

Most therapists would agree that effective clinical supervision should be both a 'talking' and a 'doing' process. Supported by a growing body of research, leading supervision manuals have highlighted the importance of experiential methods in enhancing learning, facilitating self-reflection, and developing supervisees' clinical expertise.

This one day, practice-focused webinar will introduce the process and applications of 'action supervision': an experiential approach to supervision which is grounded in the use of chairwork. Individuals who supervise cognitive behaviour therapy, schema therapy, compassion focused therapy, or integrative therapy will find the workshop particularly helpful.

Participants will learn, observe, and practice a variety of supervisory chairwork methods. These include chairwork applied to:

...Addressing blocks, ruptures, and impasses in therapy

...Resolving difficult feelings towards clients (i.e. negative counter-transference)

...Overcoming problematic supervisee defences such as avoidance and overcontrol (e.g. maladaptive therapist modes)

...Enhancing supervisees' self-confidence, self-compassion, and self-reflection

Helping supervisees cultivate and strengthen their 'healthy-' or 'compassionate internal supervisor' will be a focus throughout the webinar.

Please note that this workshop includes small group practice in Zoom break-out rooms. Participants are encouraged to bring case material for this purpose.

Spaces for this webinar are strictly limited.

We hope to make this webinar available for purchase after the event. All participants will be provided access to this recording. Please do not purchase an eventbrite ticket if you will not be attending on the day. To register your interest in purchasing a recording, please email: info@chairwork.co.uk
