About this event

Musculoskeletal Health Research: Caring for Cells and Communities

We are excited to extend an invitation to you for our Active Lifestyles Conference, focusing this year on musculoskeletal health.

We are honoured to have Professor Craig Sale, a distinguished scientist from Manchester Metropolitan University, as our keynote speaker. Professor Sale’s groundbreaking research, which highlights the critical interplay between muscle and bone health, aligns perfectly with the Centre’s focus. His insights are not only academically enriching but they also promise to engage and inspire a diverse audience, offering fresh perspectives on musculoskeletal health.

The conference will also feature Alison Iliff, Health and Wellbeing Programme Lead for the North East and Yorkshire Region at the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, and Sarah Monks, Ageing Well Lead at NHS England for the same region. Their contributions, especially in the areas of Healthy Ageing and fall prevention, are crucial to our thematic exploration. They bring invaluable expertise in the development and assessment of community health initiatives, providing practical insights into effective intervention strategies.

Additionally, we will showcase hot-off the press research findings from our colleagues at the Carnegie School of Sport, whose work aligns with the themes of the Active Lifestyles Centre. Their contributions are set to further enrich our understanding and approach to musculoskeletal health and wellbeing.

Whether you are a healthcare professional, researcher, or enthusiast in the field of musculoskeletal health, this conference is the perfect setting to explore latest trends, network with peers, and contribute to the evolving landscape of health and wellbeing.

We look forward to welcoming you to an eventful day of learning, discussion, and discovery.
