Active Listening - (2 Sessions) - CPD Accredited

About this Event

Cloverleaf are offering the Active Listening training which will be accredited with Continuous Professional Development Certification (8 CPD Points).

This online training is delivered over two sessions, both sessions must be attended to gain the CPD Certificate. Both dates run from 9.30am until 12.45pm.

Session 1 - Tuesday 4th May, 2021

Session 2 - Wednesday 5th May, 2021

This course works well as a stand-alone course and has been successfully delivered to professionals and those with an interest in personal development.

Active Listening is a highly valued, interpersonal skill that you can acquire and an essential part of effective communication. It includes developing a particular ethical way of being and using a framework of skills – both verbal and non-verbal which enable the speaker to feel both valued and heard.

Active Listening skills are an important aspect of management; both of interpersonal and intrapersonal situations. They are essential within mediation, conflict management and increasingly within support offered to those with mental health issues. Essentially, wherever there is a relationship, there is a need for Active Listening skills.

This course is highly interactive and participatory; it will equip you to listen more effectively and work from a strong, ethical basis, with a real commitment to the well-being of the individual. It is delivered by an experienced practitioner with a teaching and counselling qualification. The course is aimed at those who engage with others in a professional capacity but is equally relevant to individuals wishing to enhance their own interpersonal skills.

By the end of the course, learners will:

  • Know the difference between active listening and passive listening.
  • Be able to name the core conditions and appraise their ability to offer these to another.
  • Be able to identify and use a range of listening skills to positive effect.
  • Recognise their own limitations and communicate within ethical boundaries.
  • Be able to sign-post as appropriate.

CLOVERLEAF CONNECT

Who are we

Cloverleaf Connect is the training branch of a Charity, dedicated to supporting vulnerable people to find a voice. Unlike many training providers, our revenue is invested directly back into supporting local communities, advocacy and vital work to support carers.

When you choose to purchase from us, you invest in your own company or your personal and professional development, whilst also making a charitable donation in order that our good work in supporting others can continue.

We aim to deliver exceptional training; all of our trainers are experienced, knowledgeable practitioners in a variety of professional fields and have a flair for engaging learners in participatory learning.

Cloverleaf Advocacy provides high quality advocacy services to people with mental health needs, learning disabilities, older people, people with physical and sensory impairment, and carers. We provide advocacy support to people in local communities, supported living, hospitals, secure mental health units and residential homes.

Advocacy is all about helping people to control their own lives. We support people to:

  • make their own decisions
  • have their voices heard and rights respected
  • achieve their own goals
  • express their views
  • represent themselves and get the help they need.

We also support self-advocacy groups to be involved in shaping health & social care.

We believe in involving people who access health and social care services, and professionals learning from people who use services.

We provide a range of training in advocacy skills and knowledge. We are a registered City and Guilds Centre for delivering a range of health and social care qualifications including the Independent Advocacy qualifications.

We are experienced partners in consultation and research with people who access health and social care services.
