Actively Looking: The experience of searching for work after redundancy.
Event Information
About this Event
This session is an opportunity share experiences and perspectives on the job search after redundancy; how it makes you feel, how you manage it, and how you emerge from it.
The aim of the session is to connect with others going through the same experience, and develop your resilience through supportive discussion.
Diana Bowden: Let's Go Forward
Diana is the founder of Let’s Go Forward, a Manchester-based employability support organisation. A community interest company, it launched in 2019 in response to the loss of around 3,000 local jobs after the collapse of Thomas Cook. In the last year, Covid-related redundancies have meant that the group has been busier than ever. Aided by a small army of businesses and volunteers, it offers a range of support services to help people get back to work.
Viv Underwood: Facilitator
Viv has recently started a coaching qualification and is particularly interested in the development of workplace culture, self-worth and recognition of personal value at work. She will be helping to guide the discussion and asking questions that keep the conversation flowing to (hopefully) generate some interesting insights and reflections. Viv is also happy to offer any participants a free 30 minute chat to discuss specific issues that might arise during the session, or questions that need a little more individual attention and support.
