Description

This session will be lead by Sue Calveley Edsential SEND Advisory Manager and aims to demonstrate exercises to strenghten shoulder mobility, wrist action and loosen fingers to improve pencil grip and handwriting for children with Down Syndrome. Suitable for school staff parents and carers. The focus is primary aged pupils however may also be relevent to older children and anyone who is interested is invited to attend. Tea/coffee on arrival 3.45-4.00 followed by speaker , Q/A and finish by 5.30pm. Parking available in the roads near school -Doncaster Drive or Uplands Road. Please come in via the mainschool gate.

Objectives are:-

To demonstrate practical activities and resources to use for fine motor control. (PLEASE BRING a tub of Playdoh!)

To chat with parents/carers and professionals who can offer useful tips on supporting pupils with Down Syndrome.

To share resources which support Dyspraxic pupils at home or in school. (PLEASE BRING any resources you have used sucessfully to share with others.)

Dont forget your Playdoh!!!
