Course Description:
This introductory course equips activity and cate team members with the confidence and practical skills to deliver inclusive, engaging, and low-cost visual arts activities. Grounded in person-centred approaches, the course focuses on adapting simple creative techniques to suit varied abilities, making the arts accessible and meaningful in everyday care settings. No previous art experience is required.
Course Aim:
To empower participants to plan and deliver inclusive, low-resource visual arts activities that promote wellbeing, creativity, and self-expression among individuals of all abilities.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the benefits of visual arts engagement.
- Demonstrate at least three adaptable, low-cost visual arts techniques suitable for use in a care home setting.
- Apply inclusive and person-centred approaches to plan creative sessions that respond to individual needs and abilities.
- Reflect on how to create a safe, encouraging, and dignified environment that enables participation and self-expression through art.

Certificates of attendance will only be issued to attendees who attend for the whole of the session.This course will be delivered via ZOOM and will include, presentations, discussion and reflection, case studies, videos and demonstrations. Please make sure that you are familiar with using ZOOM.
