Event description

Description

This meeting gives an introduction to Adaptation to Climate Change and what this means, through a number of short talks.

The event is being organised by the Environmental Change Institute (ECI), University of Oxford, in association with Low Carbon Hub and the Oxfordshire Green Party.

While Adaptation is commonly discussed and understood in consultancy / academic circles it is not always well understood to people outside of this realm.  Therefore we hope to attract people who are interested in climate change and the environment, and would like to know more on the subject of adaptation.

Hosted by Dr Helen Gavin of the ECI, and chaired by Hazel Dawe of the Oxfordshire Green Party, we are pleased to have the following speakers:

*Low Carbon Hub: Barbara Hammond MBE will give the opening introduction

*ECI: Dr Mike Simpson will talk on Green Infrastructure

*ECI: Julian Cottee will speak on Food Systems

The meeting will be held between 7-9pm, in the Gottman Rm, School of Geography and the Environment, on Friday 30th  Sept. 2016.  The format will comprise an introduction followed by ~20min talks with a ~30 minute discussion afterward.  Please feel free to arrive from 6:30pm.

We look forward to seeing you!
