We are running our Surfing England recognised Adaptive Surfing Volunteer Training day!

The aim of the day is to make you feel confident to be part of a team taking people with disabilities surfing as part of our Wave Project sessions.

Typically we spend the morning indoors looking at barriers to surfing, positive language and good communication skills.
We then take a quick break for lunch.
We spend the afternoon working on transferring skills, learning skills to work with Visually Impaired surfers, and safe use of our seated Adaptive boards.

At the end of the day you will receive a certificate of attendance.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I park for the theory training?

Croyde Village Hall has a carpark immediately behind it. This costs £2.50 all day. It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk from there to the surf school: Surf South West.

What do I need to bring with me?

1. Warm clothes. 2. Keep Cup – we’ll provide tea and coffee. 3. Packed lunch – there’s not enough time in the day to go and buy lunch, please bring it with you. 4. cold water kit

What should I wear for Sea Training?

Please wear a full length wetsuit. You can wear boots/gloves and/or a hood if you feel more comfortable doing so. If you need to borrow a wetsuit from the surf school then let Ian know.
