ADASS YORKSHIRE & HUMBERSIDE COMMISSIONING FOR BETTER OUTCOMES MASTERCLASS 9am – 4pm, Tuesday 4th October, 2016 The Source Skills Academy, 300 Meadowhall Way, Sheffield, S9 1EA
The Yorkshire and Humberside ADASS Commissioning network have completed a self-assessment against the national Commissioning for Better Outcomes standards. All fifteen councils have carried this out for the second year running. This event will share the findings of the exercise and will aim to share best practice from councils who are innovative in their approaches in meeting the challenges that councils they are facing. The event will also showcase the work through the national pilot of the Commissioning for Better Standards peer challenge programme, led by the Local Government Association, of which two councils from the region took part in.
The programme also includes practical workshops which will cover the study by York University into the experience of people who fund their own services and the ‘cost of care’ guide for commissioners which has been developed by CIPFA, working with the Department of Health and ADASS to support local authorities. The sustainability and quality of the market is one of the region’s biggest risks and challenges, to close the session, the Care Quality Commission will be presenting their analysis of the home care market and the impact that local authority and NHS commissioning is having.
