This 5-hour course will be delivered ONLINE using MS Teams by one of our experienced trainers.
It is no secret that working with people with addiction to drugs and alcohol can be challenging. This course will help to understand addiction and provide you with skills to help you engage with those who are seemingly stuck in the same cycle.
The Derbyshire Addictions Advice Service (DAAS), formerly known as the Derbyshire Alcohol Advice Service, has been delivering training on drugs and Alcohol for many years and has developed this course as a follow-up session to our awareness courses. It is helpful if you have attended one of these courses before booking a place, or have prior knowledge about drugs and alcohol.
Who Is It For?
This training is for professionals who work with adults in Derbyshire, including:
- Health and social care staff
- Community support workers
- Staff and volunteers from charities, voluntary organisations, and community groups
Cost and Eligibility
This training is funded by Derbyshire Public Health, making it free of charge for frontline professionals or volunteers in Derbyshire who work with adults in health services, social care, and community-based roles.
