Additional Risk Considerations for LGBT & Experiencing DA - County

About this event

Price: FREE for Nottingham County workers

It is recommended practice for Nottingham County practitioners to utilise additional risk considerations when risk assessing LGBT+ survivors. The current risk assessment process for all people experiencing domestic abuse is through the DASH RIC (Domestic Abuse Stalking Harassment Risk Indicator Checklist), it is recognised, however, that for some survivors there will be additional risk considerations. This briefing session explores additional risk factors and considerations for LGBT+ people experiencing domestic abuse.

 Learning outcomes

• To introduce additional risk considerations for LGBT+ survivors of domestic abuse

• To explore how these can be utilised alongside the DASH RIC

• To improve understanding of the needs of LGBT+ survivors of domestic abuse

Please note: This session is not a general training on Domestic Abuse in Same-Sex relationships and will assume an understanding of DASH RIC and MARAC. This briefing session will be of most benefit to workers who have already completed Domestic Abuse Training and DASH RIC/ MARAC training or have a prior understanding of DASH RIC and the MARAC process. It will not provide training on DASH RIC specifically.

To access the City MARAC training, please find forthcoming dates and booking information here:

For training to increase awareness and understanding of domestic violence and abuse in same-sex relationships more generally, please find available dates here:
