About this event
Addressing Child Sexual Exploitation and Child Criminal Exploitation through the lens of the child - Using Virtual Reality to help young people to avoid and remove themselves from risk.
Overview:
Antser partnered with three London Boroughs - Redbridge, Enfield and Waltham Forest to use VR in interventions with young people exposed to, or at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), Criminal Exploitation (CCE) and other contextual safeguarding issues.
Using Antser's Virtual Reality programme the Tri-borough VR project provides a unique training resource for children, vulnerable adolescents, their parents and practitioners working closely with the young people.
Join our webinar to hear first-hand about the many ways Tri-borough is embedding VR into practice and how Antser VR allows practitioners and parents to develop a deeper understanding of the experience of young people exposed to CSE and CCE, giving them a greater understanding of the child's perspective.
With an exclusive preview of several of Antser's immersive storytelling VR films, this insightful exploration provides professionals, parents and those new to the sector the first-hand experience unlike any other.
“I found the VR set a very useful way to open up the conversation with the young person around criminal exploitation and gangs.
The young person expressed he found the videos helpful to watch and it opened his eyes to what it may be like if you are to get involved with exploitation.
He said watching some of the videos made him feel scared and gave him something to think about. It also helped with and reassuring the young person who he can go to speak about issues around county lines and exploitation."

Why Virtual Reality?
Our Virtual Reality programme is a technology-enabled behaviour change tool, designed to support the team around a child or young person in understanding emotions, trauma and potential triggers, so that they can support, care and guide them effectively.
Born out of first-hand experience of the social care system, this powerful approach quickly and effectively delivers the knowledge, understanding and empathy that can otherwise take years to develop.
Virtual Reality leads to accelerated learning.
Our 2020 findings show that VR learners are :
- 4x faster
- 4x more emotionally connected
- 4x more focused
- AND 275% more confident
