Event Details

Join Louise Lenton of Acas to discuss effective age management and the multi-generational workforce. It's predicted that over 20 million Britons will be over 65 within 30 years. That's why many argue that employees will have to work longer to keep the national economy on track. This interactive session is designed to help you gain a greater understanding of:

• effective age management
• the Acas Age Audit tool and how to use it to inform your workforce strategy

The tool, developed in partnership with the Age Research Centre at Coventry University, is free and will help employers get a handle on what their staff think about age, and how age-related issues are treated in their organisation. Not only that, it is designed to take stock of an organisation's approaches and policies to age, and create a firm foundation for their future direction. It also helps identify and address any risks or issues that could potentially lead to discrimination claims.

Guest speaker:

Louise Lenton has been a Civil Servant for most of her working life. She has a passion for developing the talent of our young people and supporting them into employment by ensuring they are fully prepared for the world of work. Louise is Deputy Chair of the Midlands Civil Service Diversity and Inclusion Network. She works across Government Departments to identify and challenge issues impacting diversity, inclusion and progression.
Her knowledge and experience of the day to day issues confronting employers enables her to provide advice, guidance and training which is not only soundly based but also practical and pragmatic. When disputes arise in the workplace, whether between individuals or the company and the workforce, Louise is able to help the parties find a mutually satisfactory resolution.
