About this event

One-day Course

This training aims to enable frontline staff who work with children and young people have a solid understanding of ADHD, an appreciation of its differing presentations affecting assessment and diagnosis of children and young people as well as an understanding of global risks associated with ADHD, the need for integrated medical and therapeutic interventions to improve life outcomes. The trainer aims for the participants to move away from a single lens focus and for participants to see the whole child/young person so they may work optimally with other services.

Learning Outcomes

  • Know what ADHD is including symptoms experienced by children and young people
  • Be aware of diagnosis process and local support networks
  • Appreciate the impact of ADHD can have on children and young people
  • Living with ADHD – identify ways to support children and young people who have ADHD

Who is it aimed at?

Frontline staff who work with children, young people and their families with ADHD who want to improve their skills and knowledge to increase their confidence in identifying, connecting, supporting and signposting said children, young people and their families to improve outcomes for families.

What is Children in Wales' refund policy

Cancellations can only be accepted in writing via email. Cancellations received two weeks before the date of the event will be refunded in full, less a £10 administration fee. No refunds can be made after this date, although substitutions can be made.
