ADHD: Changing your Life Changing the World
Kevin Roberts www.kevinjroberts.net
Those with ADHD have a predisposition to challenges in life. In the modern world video game and screen-based addictions have become particularly troublesome for people with ADHD. Roberts will show how to appreciate the perceptual, interpersonal, and cognitive differences of “ADHDers,” and how those can lead to success or failure, with a special emphasis on the factors that put ADHD people at significant risk for addiction. He will also focus on how the strengths can be translated into unique skills and talents that can enhance the ability to be successful socially, academically, and in their careers. Using the latest research and personal stories, as well as insights born from his work with those with ADHD, he will demonstrate how to get passed the stigma of this condition to eventually turn what have been seen as “symptoms” into character strengths and creative ways to make life richer and more interesting for themselves and the people around them.
Kevin is a gifted writer, teacher, ADHD coach and adult with ADHD. He has written best selling books such as Unlocking the Power of ADHD: Movers, Dreamers and Risk Takers and Cyberjunkie: Escaping the gaming and internet trap.
Hyperactive Dreamers – a Personal Perspective of ADHD
They show a double image – as incapable, slow, inattentive, as well as capable, creative, fast… Hyperactive Dreamers. Passion, sensitivity, dreaminess, conceptual thinking and hyperactivity are the leading traits that make their difference. The difference that caused Marko Ferek to have many problems during his schooling that led him to lose his self confidence. A big change happened in his grown up age, when he found out about ADHD. He awoke all of his strengths and realized that he didn’t have a disorder, but a huge potential.
