About this event

The overall focus is to develop skills that allow the child to be more independent within their environment, manage their anxiety and levels of alertness. The main areas that will be covered include: organisation, managing stress, self-esteem, meeting new people, teasing, relaxation and attention.

The School Transition Workshop will run over the course of 4 days during the summer holidays for 2 hours each morning from 10am – 12pm at our Guildford clinic, with a parent workshop taking place on the last day of the course. This will provide parents with the opportunity to discuss what their child has learnt throughout the course, learn ways to best support their child during this period and to ask our ADHD specialists any questions.

Your child will receive a workbook pack on their first day of the course which will be used throughout the week. It has information for parents and the child, and covers some of the key challenges faced when moving to secondary school from primary school.
