About this event

Did you know that around 30% of people who struggle with binge eating also have ADHD? Despite this strong overlap, there are very few spaces dedicated to exploring the unique challenges that come with living at this intersection. This weekend workshop is designed to change that — offering a supportive, in-person environment for ADHDers who want to better understand and transform their relationship with food.

Across two full days, you’ll be guided through discussions and reflective exercises that shine a light on how ADHD traits such as impulsivity, emotional intensity, and executive functioning difficulties can influence binge eating. Together, we’ll explore how these patterns take shape and, more importantly, what can be done to create gentler, ADHD-friendly ways of managing them.

The group is intentionally small — capped at 10 participants — so that everyone has space to be heard, supported, and truly connect. You’ll benefit from the expertise of Sarah Dosanjh, psychotherapist and bestselling author of I Can’t Stop Eating, who brings both professional experience and lived insight into recovery. The cosy residential setting in Bournemouth offers the perfect backdrop for reflection, learning, and meaningful conversations (with the added bonus of friendly feline company* if you’re a cat lover!).

By the end of the weekend, you’ll leave with practical tools, a deeper understanding of yourself, and the reassurance that you’re not alone in this struggle. Whether you have a formal diagnosis, suspect you may have ADHD, or simply resonate with the traits, this is a chance to connect with others who get it — and to feel empowered, encouraged, and supported on your journey.

If you have any questions about whether this event is suitable for you, please contact the organiser.

*Please note: friendly cats live on the premises, so this event may not be suitable if you are allergic to or uncomfortable around cats.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an official ADHD diagnosis to attend?

Not at all. This weekend is open to anyone who has ADHD, suspects they may have it, or simply resonates with being “ADHD-leaning.” If the themes feel relevant to you, you’re welcome.

Will the weekend be therapy?

Although this is hosted by a psychotherapist, this is not group therapy in the formal sense, but a therapeutic workshop. It blends education, guided reflection, and group discussion. You’ll gain insight and practical strategies, but you won’t be expected to share more than you feel comfortable with.

Do you provide accommodation for the weekend?

Accommodation is not included, but there are several hotels and guesthouses very close to the venue. I’m happy to help point you towards suitable places to stay if you’re traveling in from out of town. There is free street parking at the venue.

What type of venue is the event being held at?

The venue is a residential setting in the Talbot Woods/Winton area of Bournemouth. Full address will be provided upon booking.

What should I bring with me?

Just yourself, an open mind, and a notebook if you’d like to jot things down. Refreshments will be provided, but please bring your own lunch or make plans to eat locally.
