Why choose a Clockwork Satellite workshop?

  • Expert tuition
Your tutor is an Adobe Certified Expert.
  • Small class size
A maximum of six per class, so everyone gets plenty of attention.
  • Fantastic venue
In the very centre of Dublin, overlooking the Liffey.
  • Affordable fees
Competitive workshop fees; save money by bringing along your own laptop.
  • Ongoing support
Exclusive online resources, plus email and social media support.

This workshop is ideal if you are…

  • Starting out in a professional career where a good working knowledge of Illustrator is required
  • Self-taught, with knowledge of some features of the software but not others
  • Just getting into design or illustration as a hobby
  • Looking to improve your skills in logo and infographic design

Previous learners have included…

  • Students (from sixth-form and degree courses, in subjects as diverse as architecture, fashion and archaeology)
  • Adults looking to change career
  • Artists and illustrators
  • Professionals from the worlds of architecture, design, theatre and marketing

Feedback from previous learners…

‘Stimulating, exciting, creative’
‘Well-structured, practical, illuminating’

What you need to know already…

Just basic Mac or PC computer skills: how to use a keyboard and mouse (or trackpad); how to open and save files. An eye for detail and a great image is an advantage, but by no means essential.

Workshop information

  • There will be a maximum of six participants. Individual needs will be catered for where possible.
  • The workshop will run from 10am–5pm on both days, with an hour for lunch and breaks for refreshments in the mornings and afternoons.
  • Refreshments will be provided throughout the two days. Lunch isn’t provided (but there is lots of choice in the local area).
  • We can provide PC laptops for you to use in the workshop (these spaces must be booked at least seven days in advance), or you can bring your own Mac or PC laptop along if you’d prefer to work on a familiar machine (and save €50).
  • If you bring your own laptop, it should have Photoshop installed before the start of the course (installation cannot be supported during the course as it can take some time). You can subscribe to the latest version of Adobe Photoshop (or the entire Creative Cloud package) at the Adobe website. If you're not ready to commit to subscribing to the software, it's possible to run it as a trial for seven days. And don't forget to bring your charger!
  • This workshop will be taught using the latest version of Adobe Photoshop CC; however the majority of the concepts covered are relevant to earlier versions too. Photoshop CC is virtually identical on Mac and PC. Where there are small differences in behaviour, the tutor will point these out.
  • After the course we’ll share links to comprehensive downloadable/printable online resources (notes, factsheets, etc) – which will be kept up-to-date.
  • We’re available on social media and email after the course for further support on the topics covered.
  • Further bespoke training in more advanced aspects of the software can be booked – contact us for details.
