About this event

Adult children of aging parents - peer to peer support session US time

Welcome to our online event where adult children of aging parents come together for a peer-to-peer support session. Join us on August 16, 2025 at 6:00 PM (London Time), 1:00PM (New York time) to share experiences, tips, and resources in navigating this important life stage. Let's build a supportive community and learn from each other's journeys. No one should feel alone in this process. See you there!

Frequently asked questions

Why do you have different regions for the meetings?

Time zones, the bane of my online existence! I try to offer at least one meeting a week for the UK and one for all North American time zones, but you are welcome to join any time that works with your schedule best.

What is peer-to-peer support?

Meeting with people who are, or have been, going through the same experience as you can be incredibly supportive. There are no experts, there's no professional advice. Just people like you, with lived experience, who are happy to share their wisdom, learning, and empathy.

How much does this cost?

We want this to be accessible to as many people as possible, so we're proud to offer tickets on a sliding scale. Choose whichever fits your budget, no questions asked or proof of income required. Members of The Good Mourning Society Patreon group are able to access these meetings for free, however!

Is this in person or online?

These sessions are online held via Google Meet. The group sizes are kept small so everyone has the opportunity to share if they'd like.

Who are you?

My name is Erin and I'm an experienced group facilitator and death care worker. I'm also the founder of The Good Mourning Society.

Organized by

The Good Mourning Society was created after the founder, Erin, lost her dad to a sudden heart attack. Navigating the practical death related admin and the mess left after his lack of planning, she realized there has to be a better way. Support can't just be offered to people after someone dies... and planning for the end of life shouldn't be optional!

Through events, discussions, products, and even parties, The Good Mourning Society is all about getting people to talk about death. Theirs, their loved ones’, deaths in the past, present, and future. Ranging from lighthearted sessions to deep, confronting conversations, we aim to shine a light on the shadowy subject of death so we can live a better life now.
