Event description
The Forum meets four times a year, and is open to Third Sector Organisations in Highland that work in Adult Health and Wellbeing.

About this Event

The forum provides a great opportunity to network and to find out more about the important work that colleagues in the sector are doing.

We're excited to hear from guest speakers Alistair Haw (National Care Framework Lead) and Gordon Bogan from Huntington's Association (Senior Huntington's Disease Specialist for Highland).

The NHS Highland online Care Framework for Huntingtons Disease has recently been launched. You can view and use the Framework at care.hdscotland.org/regional-fr…/nhs-highland-care-framework.

The National Care Framework is funded and supported by the Scottish Government and backed by all parties in the Scottish Parliament. It was developed by a multi-disciplinary expert group and has been supported and endorsed by the National Advisory Committee for Neurological Conditions, NHS Boards, HSCPs, health & social care staff, professional bodies, HD family members, academics and national and international third sector partners.

The Scottish Government have asked the Scottish Huntington's Association to look at extending this framework to other neurological diseases. Although this is specifically for people with Huntington’s Disease, there are many resources in it which can apply to other illnesses.
