Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A manual to keep and refer to whenever you need it
  • A certificate to say you are a Mental Health First Aider
  • A quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan
  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health

Course info

This course gives you:

  • An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix

Structure

This course starts on Fri 3 Oct to give you time to complete the self-learning activities before our first live session on Mon 6 Oct. There are…

  • 4 live sessions with Peter
  • Self-learning activities to complete before each live session
  • A physical manual and workbook (shipped to your address)

Self-learning activities

Before each live session with Peter, we provide self-learning activities from a workbook to complete.

You will have access to start the first self-learning activities 3–4 days before the first live session. They can be done at your own pace, in your own time, so long as you’re complete before the next live session.

General Info

📸 Cameras on!

To help with engagement, we ask everyone to keep their cameras on during every session. If you do not wish to have your camera on, please let us know ahead of time so we know not to request you to turn it on during the session.

👥 Course numbers

Due to some of the sensitive subjects of our courses, we limit numbers to 16 people. We want everyone to feel safe and our instructors can help if people find some bits particularly difficult.

✍️ What’s the course like?

Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.

We provide a very safe learning environment and are trained to support you throughout the course. If you don't feel comfortable joining in certain bits, then don't, we won't make you do something you aren't comfortable with.

🖥️ Software platform

Online course in conducted over Zoom (video conferencing software).
