Adult Mental Health First Aid Two Day

About this Event

Be Well's Adult Mental Health First Aid course is delivered by instructors accredited through Public Health and is the internationally recognised Adult Mental Health First Aid England course.

Mental Health First Aiders have:

- An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing

-Practical skills and tools to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues

-Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress

-Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

-Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support. this could be through self help, through their employer, charitable organisation or the NHS.

Everyone who attends the course will be provided with comprehensive resources, including a mental health first aid manual containing a wealth of information, a workbook, a lanyard and a ‘Z card’ that can be used to identify mental health first aiders in the workplace, and will become a mental health first aider and earn a certificate from MHFA England.

Can anyone attend?

Anyone above the age of 16 can attend. Some of the topics discussed can be distressing. We recommend that you talk to the trainer before the course if you feel you may find any of the topics difficult.

What should I bring?

All materials will be provided. Participants need to bring a pen, their lunch and an open mind!
